The position of Upper Weber Watershed Coordinator was established by the Utah Division of Water Quality (DWQ) to provide a local resource to address water quality concerns in East Canyon Watershed. The position is administered by the Kamas Conservation District. Funding for the position is through EPA Section 319, the Snyderville Basin Water Reclamation District, and DWQ.
In addition to providing administrative and technical support to local water quality committees; your local watershed coordinator writes and submits grant proposals to secure project funding; solicits and supports the development and implementation of non-point source water quality projects; tracks and reports tasks and activities related to all non-point source projects; facilitates the implementation of the goals and objectives identified in Total Maximum Daily Load (TMDL) studies; provides technical assistance in the design, planning and implementation of projects to improve water quality; administers contracts; and coordinates and assists with water quality monitoring activities.
